October 10, 2008 - FINALIST IN SONGWRITING CONTEST
TULSA, Okla. - Tulsa's pop/rock band Stars Go Dim placed as a finalist in the prestigious John Lennon Songwriting Contest with the song "Get Over It."
"Get Over It" ranked as one of three finalists in the Rock category of the contest. The song was judged by a committee of professional songwriters, artists and musicians including Carlos Santana, Tim McGraw and Wyclef Jean, among others, on the components of originality, composition, melody, and lyrics.
Penned by Stars Go Dim guitarist Joey Avalos, "Get Over It" unfolds as a sarcastic shot from the singer to his former girlfriend reflecting upon her the advice she once gave him-to move on and 'get over it'. The melodically haunting and cleverly worded song is one of five tracks on an upcoming release of the self-titled EP, available on iTunes Oct. 21.

June 16, 2008 - NEW MUSIC COMING!
Our plans for releasing music have been like the surface of the ocean always moving and changing form. What can we say? We are extremely busy and only want to release our very best. Your ears deserve it. What better time to reveal our “secret plan” than with the officially launching of www.starsgodim.com. We are currently working on finishing up 12 songs to be considered for the album. The “Love Gone Mad” album cover has been created as well as a great over all “concept” which we will keep under wraps for now. Just know we plan to present you with content and depth. We have decided to push back the release of “Love Gone Mad” until early 2009 so we can release it commercially. Though the album will be done this summer we need the extra time to truly set it up to be successful. With that being said we will be releasing a 5 song EP in September featuring some new tunes. As a special bonus it will come with an exclusive music video for our song “Come Around”. And to top it off, those of you who pick up the EP will get a special discount on “Love Gone Mad” when it releases in early 2009. For now we all patiently wait. Go on eating your cereal, brushing your teeth, going to work, telling people about SGD…living your life. The day will be here before you know it.
Five song EP coming in September!
June 14, 2008 - SGD ON CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO!
For those of you who may not know, a company called Clear Channel owns and operates most of the commercial radio stations in the United States. As a way to discover new talent Clear Channel started a program called “New Music”. Artists have to apply to be apart of “New Music” and not everyone is chosen. After a few months of waiting we found out Stars Go Dim was accepted. There is no voting or requesting involved. Just listening to music. Artists who have a high number of plays on their Clear Channel page could potentially get picked up for major airplay. So while your “working” away on the net (yeah right…on Myspace!) please bring up our Clear Channel page in a new window and just let it play and play. The more full plays we can get the better chance of exposing Stars Go Dim to the entire Universe…or better yet the world!
